4th Of July!!

What a blast that was. We spent the day with some friends of ours and James' family. We went to Kingston, TN to spend the day out there on the lake. Around 11 in the morning we went to breakfast with Amy and the kids than headed out there. They had a bunch of tents set up, boat races, and fun things for the kids to do. All of the kids; Shaley, Brandon, Caden, Drake, Emma and Aiden all got along great and played all day together. It was nice seeing that. I would imagine driving home last night that all of the kids fell asleep. We waited till it got dark around 9:45 to watch the great fireworks. Shaley was so much better this year with the fire works. Last year she was only a month old and did not like it at all. Before the fireworks started we got to do our own, which I have not ever done so that was a lot of fun! All of the adults were so worried about getting sunscreen on the kids that James and I ended up getting really burnt. We were in a lot of pain yesterday and even more today. ALWAYS PUT SUNCREEN ON.. that was what we learned yesterday :) I am gonna post lots of pics from our day together...

Mommy & Daughter Day

So Shaley and I had a daughter and mommy day today. We went swimming came back and took our showers which by the way Shaley decided she didn't want to wait for her turn so she got her little butt in the shower with me. I was quite surprised. She amazes me everyday! After we got ready and kinda relaxed for a bit I took her down to the park with some bread so we could feed the ducks. There is also a spot with a bunch of sunflowers I have been wanting to take her down to so we could get some good pictures, which I did :) Here are some pictures of my beautiful daughter from our outing....

Barney! 7/2/09

So Shaley has come to love Barney. (Mommy and Daddy are just thrilled) She laughs and dances with him.. Here is some pictures from this morning...

Painting/Harmonica

So I have 2 posts I am going to do on this one...

First we will talk about the painting. I let Shaley finger/sponge/body paint. For her birthday one of my friends got her a few fun craft things to do. The paint and sponges were one of them. I set out some construction paper on the floor and gave the paint and sponges to her. She had a blast doing it and couldn't believe I was letting her go freely with it.

Going Poo Poo on the Potty

Well she did it! What a big girl she is. Shaley went poo poo on the potty for her first time on 6/22/09. Just a couple weeks after her first birthday. She was so excited she did something good like that. James and I applauded her and told her big girl. She got the potty for her birthday because when she goes potty in her diaper she has learned to take it off cause she doesn't like sitting in it, so we thought it would be a good time to start trying to potty train her.

Feeding the Ducks

So where we live we have a pond and a bunch of ducks. The other night we decided to take Sha down there to see how she would react to the ducks and let her feed them... Here are a few pictures from our experience :)

Baking!

So I had to bake some cakes this last week for Casey's party. While I was doing this I of course licked the beater. Well little miss saw me doing this from the living room and ran to the kitchen with her tongue out wanting some as well. Mommy being a pushover I gave her one... Here she is with it in her mouth. How cute is this??!!
